Nokia Treasure Tag

Geschreven door  op in Opinie, The Mobile Life.

I bet you have lost your keys once. Phrases like ‘where is my wallet?’ happen more than once? Good news then! Nokia introduces the Treasure Tag.

Basically, the idea is simple (in fact, even I have thought of this technology more than once). It’s Find My iPhone, but for your keys.

Attached to your keys, your bag, or even your wallet, the Nokia Treasure Tag, and your Lumia, will alert you when your valuables become separated.

Measuring just 30 x 30 x 10mm (roughly the size of a match box) and weighing in at just 13g. (..)

Here’s how it works.

Pairing is simple. Either use NFC to connect, or search for the Tag within the Bluetooth* settings of your phone.

If you leave the house without one or the other, the two will emit a loud tone to alert you of this fact.

The accompanying Nokia Treasure Tag app can be downloaded from the Windows Phone Store right from your Lumia. Conveniently, however, the first time you pair the Treasure Tag to your phone you’ll be prompted to download it.

If the situation arises and you hear the tone from either the phone or the Nokia Treasure Tag, you’ll hopefully be within range to hear the tone of the other device – making it very easy to locate.

Should you miss the alert for some reason, don’t worry. The clever app will help you to locate the lost item on a map, powered by HERE.

You can have up to four different Nokia Treasure Tags simultaneously connected to your Nokia Lumia. If you’ve got one tag connected to your keys and another connected to your bag, you can assign ready-made icons for each. Alternatively, you can use a photo instead of an icon.

Each Tag you have connected to your Lumia can be placed onto your Start screen as a Live Tile and will be colour coded to match your Tag, giving you updates as to when the Tag was last seen. You’re then just one click away from being reunited with your belongings.

(..)

With a battery life of up to six months, the battery is a standard coin cell type (CR-2032), which is replaceable on the reverse of the Tag.

Nokia Treasure Tag comes in four different colours: cyan, yellow, white and black. With a recommended retail price of €24,90 ($29.90), Nokia Treasure Tag is expected to start selling in April to retailers globally.

Nokia Treasure Tag will work with Lumia phones that have the Lumia Black update. There will also be third-party applications for Treasure Tag to support Android and iOS devices.
