Traveling with Multitools

Geschreven door  op in Reizen, The Mobile Life.

Traveling with camera equipment can be an adventure, never mind having a Leatherman strapped to your belt. Needless to say, you won’t pass any security checkpoint with a multitool at the airport, or the TSA will be stretching their blue gloves faster than you can say Cavity Search.

Strangely enough, the same Leatherman tool that would set off buzzing alarms with any commercial airline security checkpoint, easily got past security at the Eurostar multiple times. Hmm.. odd!

Last time I traveled by plane, to Scotland, I purchased a special TSA approved tool, called the PS Style, which was so multifunctional that I lost it after only two days in the field. Goodbye 40 euro investment!

Recently Leatherman also introduced a link bracelet, filled with 25 miniature tools, but for that money I could have an Apple Watch link bracelet.

Perhaps I should just embrace my girly side and get some Monkey Business multifunctional Hair Clips at 6 euro a pop. But then again, if I look at the rate my female friends lose their hair clips, that too could be a steep investment.

To be continued …
